Milltown of Leask

Milltown of Leask 015321

“Milltown of Leask” or “Milton of Leask”? I prefer Milltown and so does the Ordnance Survey. Could this have been a small group of dwellings where workers for the mill lived? Don’t know, but this is where I should have started trespassing to get better pictures.

Looking north west towards the Burn of Forvie from Milltown.

On top of the small hill is Milltown. there are some buildings but whether they are lived in or are farm buildings I couldn’t get near enough to see. To the left of them are these group of trees. Underneath may be the remains of more buildings. Somewhere I have read about these, possibly in a Clan Leask newsletter. Once I refind it I will let you know.

Milltown taken from the Burn of Forvie.

The entrance to Milltown.

Milltown. There appears to be two farm buildings nearest the gate with what looks like a house behind. Why didn’t I jump the gate and have a look around?

Taken in 2004, I didnt see this sign five years earlier.
