Music, Sweet Music
David Leask is a singer/songwriter living in Canada but originating in Scotland. I might have had the pleasure of seeing him on the Telly some years ago when he was in a music competition on the BBC. Heres a brief resume.
Scottish-born singer/songwriter David Leask. Since moving to Canada he has collected awards from the Songwriters Association of Canada, F.A.C.T.O.R. and the Ontario Arts Council. He has worked with veteran songwriters Eddie Shwartz, Shari Ulrich and Ian Thomas.
Leask’s music is sometimes reminiscent of some of his favourite Scottish bands which include Big Dish and Love and Money, and he also been compared to Del Amitri and Marc Cohn. His solo album was released in January 1999.
David has played over 400 gigs, including opening for former Waterboys main man Mike Scott.
